Dhanush, Kriti Sanon, Aanand L. Rai’s ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ Teaser Debuts Ahead of November Release (EXCLUSIVE)
According To The variety The new teaser for “Tere Ishk Mein” has arrived, offering a glimpse into director Aanand L. Rai‘s latest romantic drama starring Indian National Film Award winners Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in their first on-screen collaboration. Set for a worldwide release on Nov. 28 in the Hindi and Tamil languages, the film reunites Rai with composer A.R. Rahman for their third collaboration, following “Raanjhanaa” (2013) and “Atrangi Re” (2021). The teaser showcases the charged dynamic between Dhanush’s Shankar and Sanon’s Mukti, characters whose love story unfolds against the backdrop of Benaras, a city central to several of Rai’s signature works. The title translates to “In Your Love” from the Hindi and Urdu languages, with “ishk” denoting an intense, all-consuming form of love that goes beyond mere romance. “Ishk is only about surrender – letting it heal you, hurt you, and change you,” said Rai, who directs and produces the film alongside Himanshu Sharma. The project marks a reunion of frequent collaborators, with Sharma co-writing the screenplay alongside Neeraj Yadav. Rahman’s score features lyrics by Irshad Kamil, with the teaser track performed by Arijit Singh already generating buzz. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow, with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar serving as producers alongside Rai and Sharma. Bhushan Kumar, chair and MD of T-Series, said: “Audiences will see Dhanush and Kriti together for the first time; a fresh pairing that brings a unique, magnetic tension to the screen. With Aanand L. Rai’s vision and A.R. Rahman’s soulful music weaving through every moment, we’ve created a world that stays with you long after the credits roll.” Rai was embroiled in a dispute with Eros International over the studio’s AI-altered re-release of “Raanjhanaa,” which changed the 2013 film’s tragic ending without the filmmaker’s consent. Rai has warned that “Indian cinema now stands at its own inflection point” regarding creator protections, while Eros CEO Pradeep Dwivedi has defended the decision as both a legal right and creative innovation, characterizing it as “a respectful reinterpretation” and arguing that “creative reinterpretation by rights holders is a long-standing global practice.” The controversy has sparked broader debates about creative rights and AI’s role in Indian cinema.
